THURSDAY 12th OCTOBER - SUNDAY 22nd OCTOBER
10 NIGHT YOGA HOLIDAY FROM $1059.00 PER PERSON SHARED & $1520.00 FOR SINGLE OCCUPANCY
For our Autumn yoga holiday of 2017 due to popular demand we have opted to run our first 10 day yoga holiday. The location is The Olive Garden. With its cosy cabins, terrraced gardens, infinity pool and yoga shala all with panoramic views of the dramatic Mediterranean coastline the setting is hard to beat.
Despite the political turmoil and unrest that in recent years has polarised opinion in the news, we have no hesitation in travelling to this peaceful region of Turkey. This is a vast country and the delightful people of this region are welcoming, serene and completely untouched by the upheavals of the outside world.
Autumn provides the perfect climate and setting to prepare and nourish ourselves for the winter months ahead. You won't regret your decision to join us in this wonderful place.
In my humble opinion, it is hard to find a more beautiful setting for yoga holidays anywhere else in the in the world!
Yoga will take place morning and afternoon commencing on Sunday morning. We will have 14 yoga sessions of varying lengths and content. Attending the yoga sessions is completely optional. There is never any pressure for guests to take part in every yoga session and non-participating partners are also most welcome on the holiday.
I don't belong to any particular school of yoga and I teach in a spontaneous, non-dogmatic way. Students work at their own pace with a strong emphasis on taking what they need that day from the practice and leaving out what they don't.
In general, the morning yoga sessions in Turkey, will comprise more dynamic and energetic flow yoga with modifications offered to suit the individual levels of students and pranayama (breathing techniques).
The late afternoon/ early evening yoga classes will include slower asana practice, with some poses held longer for deepening, yin yoga, gentle and restorative sessions, pranayama, guided relaxations, yoga nidra and meditations.
The spacious yoga platform with views overlooking the cove below and dramatic coastline is built from cedar and local pine and has light cotton drapes to provide shade and keep students cool and comfortable while they practice. The breath-taking views play an integral part of reinforcing our connection to nature and the beauty both in the world and to be discovered within ourselves.
Located on The Lycian Way coastal path, and popular throughout the year with walkers along Turkey's famous Turquoise Coast, our base for the yoga holiday has a footpath from its elevated position right down to the sea. This little slice of heaven provides an affordable, haven in which we can practice yoga together, rest, relax and enjoy the many benefits that this beautiful corner of Turkey has to offer.
The weather in this part of Turkey is ideal and there less visitors. It’s the perfect spot to prolong the summer!
The log cabins that provide our yoga retreat accommodation are simply, but comfortably, furnished and have en suite washing and toilet facilities, air-conditioning and all have their own decking balconies with views overlooking the sea and surrounding mountains.
PLEASE NOTE Cabins are allocated on a first booked first served basis!
The cabins are set on terraces surrounded by the organic gardens which are planted with lemon, olive, apricot, banana, mulberry, pomegranate and peach trees. Roses and geraniums, jasmine and lavender give out their wonderful scents on balmy evenings and the grapevine and morning glory covered terraces provide relaxing shady spaces to enjoy drinks or dinner. Many vegetables such as aubergines, tomatoes, pumpkins and green peppers are grown by the owner’s family in their nearby farm in the valley providing fresh seasonal produce for the kitchen.
The restaurant here is acclaimed in an area already known for its excellent, freshly-sourced Mediterranean cuisine. Lunchtimes are very popular with locals and day visitors alike. They come from nearby Fethyre and Olu Deniz and the daytimes are often buzzing with people enjoying the scenery and the food.
Our breakfast and evening meals are served under the shade of grape vines, jasmine and morning glory or the stars! The restaurant is a great source of personal pride to the owner who is an accomplished, if modest, professional chef himself. Fresh bread is baked daily in front of our eyes in the log burning oven and much of the food served has been locally grown and is organic. Honey is from the family's hives and their surprisingly palatable wine is made from the locally grown grapes.
