9 Day YogaPlus+ Art Retreat

This is a unique opportunity to challenge, play and explore your creative nature and unleash the exciting undiscovered parts of yourself.

As yoga focuses the attention on the body's internal space, and the nuances of the body dialogue, so the drawing course will seek to reflect this by paying attention to the action of drawing as well as how we really see and how we think.

This is a YogaPlus+ course which means that it combines one daily yoga class with two daily Art classes and includes accommodation, breakfast and lunch.

ART WORKSHOP: ENGAGING THE SCALE EMOTION!

By Sarah Bradpiece, MA

I have created a drawing workshop for anyone wanting to develop their creative process to run in conjunction with the yoga course run by Atalya Levy.

As yoga focuses the attention on the body's internal space, and the nuances of the body dialogue, so the drawing course will seek to reflect this by paying attention to the action of drawing as well as how we really see and how we think.

Mark making, tone and perspective can be a gesture of using a tiny paintbrush with the thumb and forefinger, or using the whole body to create a line in wet sand with a stick.

India is a mammoth landscape of massive contrasts. From tiny miniatures painted with minute attention to detail, to the huge effigies of the Buddha or Hindu Gods. Indian culture is in itself a masterclass at engaging the emotions of 'SCALE'.

Using different mediums, ranging from fine pen and ink, to thick charcoal and powder pigments, we will begin by exploring the way 'scale' engages our attention.

This is a unique opportunity to challenge, play and explore your creative nature and unleash the exciting undiscovered parts of yourself.
